When you earn wealth by doing things that are not conducive to the society, you pay from your happiness account. People, who are doing illegal or immoral things in their professions, are constantly depleting their happiness account. Thieves, dacoits, fraudsters and corrupt people can make huge amounts of illegal money through elicit activities. However, they have to pay spiritually by losing their happiness and suffering from inner guilt throughout their lives.

The incremental value of wealth declines as we become richer. Yet people keep on accumulating it. They think that more is better. Hence, when they fail to get happiness even after becoming wealthy, instead of looking for the appropriate reason for their unhappiness, they blame lack of greater wealth for the lack of happiness and work even harder to make more money with the hope of buying happiness with money.

A beautiful and joyful life can’t be created by following any principle or dogma or by following all the principles in a random manner. You have to learn the art of harmonising all the principles of happiness in a way that matches the rhythm of your life and creates happiness for you.

Happiness is the result of a positive experience of our inner world with the outer world, which in turn creates trust between us and the world.

Every bad experience is a source of unhappiness. Yet the intensity of suffering can be controlled. Just like a person who has a million-dollar bank balance is likely to get less disturbed due to loss of a few dollars, you too can easily overcome some bad incidents in your life, without losing much joy, provided you already have a great amount of happiness in your life.

Happy people know that all the imperfections of the world are due to the conditioning of our minds which seeks perfection in the world according to the moral and statuary laws. Unless you free yourself from the binding of the rules and laws, there will hardly be any place for happiness in your life.

If you are filled with hatred, you can hardly enjoy genuine happiness. Hatred makes your personality extremely fragile and you lose your temper on the slightest pretext, which further creates enmity.

A wise person hates none and loves everyone. When you give love to someone without any expectations, your happiness account is credited. Each time you hate those who love you, or cheat your friends or become unfaithful to your beloved, a certain amount of happiness gets debited from your account.

There are numerous emotions such as love, hatred, fear, anxiety, guilt, grief, anger, surprise, happiness, boredom, lust, compassion and each has an important role to play in our lives. We need to feel and go through all the emotions in our lives. While we may not desire some of them as they can cause pain, their absence can’t complete our lives either.
