When the time comes, if it comes, you have got to be ready to leave a relationship or a marriage, not necessarily because you stopped loving the other person, but because you realise that with them, you cannot be, or become, the person that you know you want or need to be.

Do you love every piece of you, every bit of you, every ounce of you, every inch of you? Because I do. And so should you.

Please remember that the lightning has never apologized for breaking skies open; the ocean has never said sorry for sinking ships. You, as well, must never apologize for being a force of nature. And as you love the lightning and as you love the oceans, so shall you love yourself. The skies are yours, the depths are yours-- that is okay. After all, Immortal is not a small nor simple thing. You'd have to be stupid to think it would be easy.

There are going to be people whom your former self was comfortable being with. Then there are going to be people who feel comfortable for the person that you are turning into, the one you are becoming. It's at this point you have to choose: do I need to be with someone whom I may become my new self with, or do I need to be with someone who cradles the person I used to be? The sky or the cradle. The nest or the wings. You'll have to decide on this, we all will have to decide on this.

They're telling me that fairy tales are for learning how to slay dragons. But I'm telling them that I would never slay a dragon. I will mount the backs of dragons, I will fly with them. And if that doesn't happen in fairy tales, well then, I'll write my own.

It is a crowning moment to witness someone realise that you love yourself more than you love them. That you want yourself more than you want them. I will become a collector of such crowns, they shall line my walls and windows.

You're taught to "be grateful" for everything. But have you ever been taught to "be grateful" for yourself? In 2020, be grateful for yourself. Make that a promise.

We must always remember that we are not obliged to give away all of the light in us. We may keep it within us, let it burn inside, let it light up our own minds and fuel up our own hearts. Our light is primarily OURS. Then as we illuminate from what is within, others may see, and they may have light too. The business of giving all of our light away... it is a great deception, a big fat lie.

They don't know how warm you are and how warm they are with you, not until they're cold. People think a bonfire is something they can build anywhere. It's not. It takes wood, an open space, ideally stars in the sky. They can't fabricate that. They don't know how warm you are until they're cold. They don't know your stars until you're not there.
