When I came into this program, I said that if I could touch one kid, just one, I would feel like I was successful.

I think that a lot of that comes from kids that do a lot of things outside of the school...schools are no more unsafe than they were 10 years ago.

Your thefts, which are probably my biggest crime, then vandalism to cars or school desks or rooms. But what I call violent crimes like rape, murder, you don't see that inside our schools.

They are pulling the same pranks; they are all trying live faster than they should. Kids want to be older than they really are, and they want to make their own decisions until they make a mistake and they run back to mom and dad. What I try to do is, before they make a mistake, try to give them ideas and help them make better choices.

I just a really rewarding job for me, I can't think of anything else I want to do in the department. This is where I want to be when I finish my career.
