Shrooms are full of shit. That’s the whole story. Grown in shit, it’s their essence: they try to humble you in these ways that bring you down to their level.

Before me all things crumble.

Only a fool would deny me.

So powerful will be our intimacy, that words, mere words, would do it great injustice.

You are nothing without me… You need me… more than you’ve ever… needed anything.

Without me… you are completely lost. I own… your soul.

You can make something less offensive by taking it over.

Patience is constant internal action that allows you to remain calm and best handle whatever unpleasant thing you’re faced with. The trick is to not let the negative feelings coming from that thing stay for too long—to reach down into the well that is patience, bring it up to the surface, and push it out around you, make it emit from you like a force field.

Much of the power of the words is held in the act of saying or hearing them. Whatever meaning they carry is secondary. That is not to say that these things are done by rote in Mass—rather, it’s more of an incantation.
