Hell mostly just means being separated from God.

God is about love. But it is a perfect, pure love. There must be some justice in that. Order. We’re supposed to do right, not wrong. Like you said, we are made bad, Ray. And that is why it is so important to be good. At all times. Being good requires sacrifice. People can’t just do what they want all the time, occasionally do some nice things for others on their own terms, call themselves loving, and still join God in heaven. You don’t get to make up the rules.

Good luck trying to really understand the words of a book full of contradictions and nutty claptrap about things like shellfish and slavery and homosexuality. Concepts quite removed from the simple unconditional love of God.

We will not leave without a fight! We will burst, first! You will see us! Hear us! Burning trees, burning bushes. We speak God’s words!

God’s love is unconditional love. Love despite our faults. Lucky for us, we’re bad.
