Strictly obeying a concept without thinking about whether it's compatible with the needs of the new time and age, takes civilization backwards not forwards.

A norm doesn't have to be logical to exist in a civilized society, it just has to be non-prejudicial.

Norms without original thinking brings societal progress to a halt, original thinking without norms makes the society unstable.

Norms ought to be the product of accountability and reason, not insecurity and superstition.
