A genuine war against terror by the Palestinians, involving the real effort to prevent terror, is key to progress in political process,

sends a deadly message that encourages terror on the one hand and prevents countries from protecting themselves against it on the other.

So long as there is terror, there will be no political process, ... Political process cannot coincide with terror. That's why we expect the Palestinian Authority to wage true, genuine struggle against terrorism.

Areas that were given to the Palestinians -- there, I think the situation is irreversible and I don't think we have to re-enter. That doesn't mean Israel will not take steps against people who find shelter there.

The fight against terrorism is an international struggle of the free world against the forces of darkness.

This is not the right approach, ... We have to try to make efforts to reach an agreement alongside our fight against terror.

It is out of strength and not weakness that we are taking this step. We tried to reach agreements with the Palestinians which would move the two peoples towards the path of peace. These were crushed against a wall of hatred and fanaticism. The unilateral disengagement plan, which I announced approximately two years ago, is the Israeli answer to this reality.
