Happiness is a state of mind, so our miseries and joy come from living in any of the three dimensions of time—past, present and future. Hence, if we wish to live happily, we must learn to remove sufferings not only from the present, but also from the past and future.

The world, however, can’t survive exclusively either by cooperation or by competition. If there is no growth without competition, there is no love and peace without cooperation either. Extremes of both are unhealthy. A happy man is one who learns to balance these two extremes. He competes with his rivals and yet does not lose compassion for them.

When we close our options at some point of time, we learn to be happy with what we have. However, when we keep our options open, we are rarely happy with what we have as we find the grass greener on the other side of the fence.

The only way to overcome the fallacious beliefs of our mind is to analyse the truth ourselves. Treat the world—including yourself—as a book and learn all lessons from it. If you spend a little time everyday analysing the reasons why something has gone right or wrong, not with a view to justify it but only for knowing the truth and the hidden laws of the world, you would start dropping your false hood one by one and become wiser.

There are so many things which we have but have not paid any attention to them. If only we can learn to appreciate our blessings, we can enjoy great happiness.

When we learn to see goodness in people, we appreciate them naturally. People who appreciate little also see little goodness in others.

Once you learn to bite the bullet by taking tough decisions, you will surprisingly develop a liking for taking such decisions, which may appear quite unpleasant in the beginning but produce wonderful results for the organisation and develop your skills.
