People seek new jobs, cars, music systems, televisions or house because they are tired of the existing ones. Their boredom gets alleviated when they are looking at the various options available in the market for these things and then trying to figure out the finance part of it—to buy it with down payment or EMI—and dreaming of the joy of having new things in their lives. However, their boredom is back again once they get used to their new acquisition.

Work is important in life because without work, we are useless on this planet. Our actions connect us with the world and give a purpose to our lives. We feel valued when we do something for the society.

When we achieve success at any given point of time, we have a tendency to further the goalpost and therefore we keep chasing the illusion of happiness throughout our lives.

Human lives are so deeply interconnected with each other that we can’t live in this world as an independent person of our own. Everyone in the world is an extension of the self. When others are suffering, we too can’t escape suffering. Our happiness depends on others and their happiness depends on us.

Most people don’t really know what they want and why they want something. Hence, everything seems desirable. As they can never achieve everything, they remain unhappy throughout their lives.

Ideals are good to give direction to our lives. However, when ideals become an end in themselves, they become a problem rather than the solution. The ideal worship has caused as much destruction to the world as the idol worship.
