Men are afraid of mermaids. They want to be near mermaids, but, they're afraid of them. Because a man needs to swim with a mermaid while a boat feels safer. Lots of men want to stay in a boat because they're afraid of drowning. But a mermaid knows: life is just not worth living if you're not ready to drown a few times.

You've got to find a man who will build you up. Enough with the boys who like to break things apart and put them back together just to see how they work. Even though you have already built yourself up, the value in adding anyone else to your life lies in the question if whether or not they can add more to that structure. If not, you're better off alone. You've got this one life, who are you going to let into it? And why?

If you ever see me with a man, it's because waking up in the morning with that person makes me feel more alive than waking up in the morning on my own. If I feel more free and more alive on my own, you're not going to see me with a man. I have no fear of loneliness but I have a fear of having to wake up beside anyone who makes me feel less sparkly, less able to fly. I have a fear of not really drinking in life deeply; of merely sipping it politely.

People usually fall in love. But some people were born in love. Already. And always.

A lot of these relationships out here are sticking together thanks to ropes of co-dependency, unhealthy and insecure attachment patterns, fears, control issues, and familiarity. Love is seldom. Soulmates are endangered.

All the things that people do in order to show that they don't need anybody... meanwhile, all they really want to do is say, "Please keep me." We all want to be kept. The problem is we are too afraid to let anyone know about it. What are these fragile things in our hearts that have so much fear of being broken?

You've got to keep the people who make you feel unalone. You can be surrounded by a tribe and still feel alone; but you can be with just one person and feel unalone. Do you realise how rare it is to feel unalone in your soul? It is the entire answer to being here! So why are you not keeping these extremely rare people or person? Why do you instead run after pictures in your mind of how things should be? If you have found unaloneness, you keep it, you need to keep it.

Marry the person who makes you feel like you can face life together. Because that’s what it’s about. It’s about facing life together.

You'll come to learn that many times, the people you have problems with are not really the people you have problems with; but in actuality, the problems lie in the premises of everybody else in between you, in their suggestive glances, in their implications and tone of voice, in their provocations and less-than-noble intent. Again, it comes down to shutting out the noise that isn't supposed to be there and listening to your inner silence.
