When we lose the belief in ‘something better’ we’ve embraced the belief in ‘all things worse.’ And such a perspective is based less on things being worse, and more on our inability to believe that we can make it better.

Whatever the depth of our darkness, God navigated it eons before it was dark. And whatever the duration of our nights, God was there long before it ever turned to night. Therefore, despite our frequent feelings to the contrary, there is no place we might be where God was not lovingly waiting for us an eternity before we got there.

If the person that I trust the least is the one by which I set the standard for everyone else, I had better learn to trust myself more.

Just knowing that God goes with us changes everything about the place that we’re going, as well as the place we were at before we went there.

Just be yourself instead of trying to prove yourself. For if you do, the former will automatically take care of the latter.

A dream is our imagination waiting for us to be brave enough to pick up a pencil, zealous enough to sketch out a blueprint, determined enough to gather the tools, committed enough to lean into the task, and audacious enough to make imagination the reality that it was always meant to be. For in time, a dream left to be nothing but a dream will eventually leave our souls believing that dreams aren’t worth imagining. And I can only imagine a handful of things as devastating as that.

There’s plenty of things that are wrong in our world, and we can give them free reign to completely define our view of the world. Or we can focus on the fact that what’s wrong with the world are the essential raw materials from which a person of determination crafts everything which is right.

It’s not about the magnitude of the thing that I fear, rather it’s about the magnitude of my attitude about the thing that I fear.

Peace is a state of being that is not reflective of what is transpiring around me, but is reflective of what God is doing within me.
