Abundant living is realizing that life is a privilege whether it’s adhering to our scripts or not.

Imagination envisions what could be. Reality states what is. And when my journey is shaped by one of these at the exclusion of the other, I will eventually wake up on some road facing the ‘reality’ that I’m far more lost than I could have ‘imagined’.

At the end, a journey based on my imagination will leave me imagining that I should have engaged the very thing I used my imagination to avoid.

If I could understand that every ‘reality’ was once a ‘wish’, and that it moved from the latter to the former because someone was committed enough to make it so, I’d be the person that I want verses the person I’ve become.

In many instances, the failures of my greatest schemes ultimately lead to the fulfillment of my greatest successes. Therefore, God will allow our most cherished dreams to perish so that we might turn and seek out His most cherished plans.

It comes down to 'fear' and 'faith'. 'Fear' of what stands in front of me. 'Faith' in believing that the resources I possess can handle what stands in front of me. If I stop at the former, I will change nothing. If I embrace the latter, I can change everything.

To spend my days regretting what I’m not is to rob me of the energy I need to celebrate who I am.

It is not about what today was. It is about what tomorrow could be.

Far too often, the best thing I can have in my hand when someone makes a promise is a really big broom so that I can sweep up the broken pieces.
