The definition of living is not based on the number of years spent, but on the degree to which we’ve spent ourselves in the living of them.

If I’m going to write something that moves the masses and seizes one’s soul, I have to force myself to sit and watch life long before I ever attempt to sit and write about it. For without the watching the writing doesn’t matter.

Just because ‘these shoes were made for walking’ doesn’t mean that we should use them on any old road.
