If I really believe that my timing is perfect, maybe the thing that’s perfect is my denial about my timing. And if that’s the case, maybe now is the perfect time to be honest about that.

We wonder why peace is elusive. Simply put, anything is elusive if we’re looking for it in the wrong places. And if God doesn’t have something to do with our search, we’re definitely in the wrong place.

Growing up means changing what we know so that we might finally come to know how much there is that we can really change.

The mistake was to think that the hawks were flying under their own power, when in fact they were catching the updrafts created by nature’s power. Therefore, to truly rise is not a product of our own brute force wherein we create the power. Rather, it is a seasoned wisdom that knows where to find the power.

Ignorance is not bliss. Rather, ignorance is blistering.

If I craft my own ethics, they will serve my agendas rather than guide them. And that is something akin to racing a car down a mountain road without a steering wheel and somehow assuming that all is well.

Wisdom apart from God is just a word.

Given the giants in my life, I’ve discovered that I need the wisdom to know when to sling a stone and when not to sling one. For sometimes not to sling a stone is the most deadly stone of all.

All I know is that if God’s not in it, you can be confident that neither am I.
