Yes, there are times when the world turns upside down, logic becomes subject to the muse of reckless interpretation, truth becomes the bed-child of selfish goals, and people are off on a wild course that bludgeons everyone they once loved or anyone who gets in the way of what they now purport to love.

Having the eyes of a child does not mean that we are naïve. Rather, it means that we’ve become brave enough to believe in a great good while simultaneously embracing the reality of a great evil.

At what point will I look beyond the rank pessimism of my own attitude and step beyond the jaded opinions of a culture gone sour in order to see that the opportunity for good will always outweigh the schemes of evil?

Without the ‘dark’ I would never understand how light the ‘light’ really is. And while I don’t care for the dark, I do appreciate what it does for the light.

It is the fool who thinks that he can live in the darkness and not become dark.

Do we actually think that we have the power to subjugate evil and wrestle it into blind obedience as some whipped puppy? For if evil can convince us of this, it has ‘subjugated’ us and ‘wrestled’ us into blind obedience without us having any idea that we just got whipped.

Evil plays on our fears. But when it comes to fighting evil, God never plays.

Humanity is capable of unimaginable good. However, in the light of those who perpetrate evil, such good seems unimaginable. Therefore, maybe it’s time that we break ourselves free to ‘imagine,’ so that we can break our world free from those who perpetrate evil.

Stand up and be the light that God created you to be. Stand with me and the millions of others like both of us who have bowed before this inexplicably marvelous God of ours and in the bowing have begged that He not let us die until the darkness in the world around us has died first.
