I would suggest that productivity is not based on how much I get done. Rather, it’s based on how much I improve someone’s life as a by-product of getting something done.

Life is less about keeping myself from falling and more about who I have around me when I do.

At the very instance where I simply kneel and say “help,” the vast distance that I created between where I am and where God is no longer ‘is.

If life’s bigger than any of us individually or all of us collectively, then there must be something bigger than us to walk us through it.

I can tell you that God has repeatedly ‘raised me up’ in the middle of the innumerable situations where ‘up’ had become a hope lost in the darkness of the places to which I had fallen. And while that is the miracle of my story, it sits waiting to be the reality of yours.

It’s not about being loved by people. It’s about loving them enough to do the right thing for them even though they may hate you for it.

The person next to you is probably doing the best they can. But if they’re not, try doing the best you can to help them do the best they can.

Lives are transformed in the solitude of those entirely unassuming moments where one life turns sufficiently away from itself in order to brush by another, and in the brushing it leaves that life forever better. And if I am privileged to have any legacy at all, let it be a million of these moments.

I don’t wish to please men. Rather, I wish to help them. And more times than not, the process of genuinely helping them may not necessarily please them.
