The true indicator that I love myself is that I choose to love others above myself.

Self-serving biases and self-centered agendas are cotton jammed in the ears of our conscience. Even if truth shouts, we can’t hear it.

Truth is not something I create to serve my agenda.  Rather, truth is something created to save me from my agenda.

To forgo every achievement that would demand the sacrifice of our character is by far one of the greatest achievements of all.

Sometimes the most mature words that we can say are “I don’t know.” For it is not knowledge that evidences my worth. Rather, it’s the knowledge that an honest man is worth a thousand who are not.

If I am bending the truth because it refuses to adhere to my agenda, I must realize that in the bending the truth has forewarned me that I am not crafting an agenda at all. Rather, I am crafting the trajectory of my own demise. And even though I adamantly reject such a notion as preposterous, it is a truth that I cannot bend.

In a culture gone increasingly rogue, it has become apparent that our actions are designed to bypass the questions whose answers would invalidate those actions. And are we naïve enough to believe that because we bypass the questions, the questions will not eventually answer themselves at our expense?

I’m not interested in what you say. I’m interested in what you do. But more than that, I’m interested in what you do when no one else is there to see it but you. And because I will never witness those moments, I hope that you do.

Character is holding to our integrity when everyone around us is holding on to everything except their integrity and pressing us to do the same.
