Any evaluation of who I am is held to the sparseness of who I am without understanding that who I am in union with Who God is renders me capable of being everything that I am not.

Self-preservation is to hunker down in the suffocating confines of this infinitesimally tiny existence that I define as ‘me,’ instead of letting ‘me’ run through the infinitely massive expanse of everything that is not me. And if the beast of self-preservation does not permit such freedoms, I will preserve myself to my own death.

When I come to the end of myself it’s probably because God is teaching me how to find the beginning of Him.

It is only in reaching the end of ourselves that we finally realize that there is an end to ourselves. And it is at this end that we finally realize that God is finally able to begin.

I came to the end of myself fighting to birth the beginning of a dream. But what really brought me to the end of myself was that I was foolish enough to fight for a dream without including the God that had given it to me.

It comes down to 'fear' and 'faith'. 'Fear' of what stands in front of me. 'Faith' in believing that the resources I possess can handle what stands in front of me. If I stop at the former, I will change nothing. If I embrace the latter, I can change everything.

If I errantly define myself by the limiting rubrics of a limited culture, I will not even begin to understand the slightest fraction of who I am. What I need to realize is that God does not work in fractions.

If I assume that my vocabulary is big enough to envelop all of God, I can be certain that it is my arrogance that has enveloped all of me.

I project my limits on God when faith would say that I should be projecting His limitlessness on me.
