I can tell you that God has repeatedly ‘raised me up’ in the middle of the innumerable situations where ‘up’ had become a hope lost in the darkness of the places to which I had fallen. And while that is the miracle of my story, it sits waiting to be the reality of yours.

To ask what the limits of our imagination are suggests that we firmly believe in limits, but we don’t have much faith in imagination.

What if the empty tomb was simply God saying that the miracle that happened there is just a foretaste of the miracles that can happen within us? And if that’s the case, nothing within us is really dead. Rather, it’s just a bunch of stuff waiting its turn to stand up and breathe again.

God allows us to believe that something can’t be done so that He can show us how our ‘can’t’ is always His ‘can.

What’s so hard about believing in miracles? Afterall, aren’t miracles simply the things that we said couldn’t be done? And I must confess that I am far too small to be the authority on what can or can’t be done.

It is when I have come to the point that I can do little but crawl that God calls me to fly. And collapsing at the seemingly cruel idea of such an impossible notion, I nonetheless raise a trembling hand and suddenly find myself soaring on wings I thought not to exist. And since that moment, I’ve never stopped believing in wings but I have stopped believing in crawling.

For some of us, the greatest miracle of all would be to believe in miracles. Conversely, the greatest tragedy of all would be to believe that you can’t believe.

I get so caught up in praying for a way ‘around’ things that I completely miss the fact that God has already ‘removed’ those things. And it is then that I realize that I had imposed my weakness on God’s strength.

With God, a mountain before me is soon to be a memory behind me.
