If I can draw the slightest smile across a single face obliterated by pain, in that act I will have begun to understand the power of an ordinary human being to perform the seemingly impossible in the life of another human being. And how can that experience do anything less than drive me to try and make the world smile.

There’s something vulnerable about the human condition, where people can transmute into something so astonishingly altered that whatever is left is wholly unrecognizable.

In an apathetic world, change is not about the fact that we actually changed something. Rather, it’s far more about the fact that we actually decided to change something.

There’s something about a warm summer night where all the boundaries of the world seem to fall to the softness of moonlight and crickets. And with the astonishing expanse of the entire world having drawn within arm’s reach, I realize that nothing is so far from where I am that it can’t be affected by who I am.

It’s not about reinventing myself. Rather, it’s about reinventing my attitude about reinventing myself.

The minute that stands in front of me has plenty of room within it to birth a new start. And if that is so, the next sixty seconds could change everything.

If there’s any redeeming quality that I can find in running away from something, it’s that I’m on my feet. Now all I’ve got to do is alter my direction.

An exceptional future can only be built on the transformation of the mess I’ve made, not the elimination of it.
