Christmas embodies everything that I need. However, everything that I need is often made up of a lot of stuff I don’t want.

Ego is borne of the need to ‘prove’ oneself instead of making the choice to ‘be’ oneself. And so maybe we need to begin curbing the birthrate.

What we ‘need’ tells us who we are. What we ‘want’ tells us who we want to be. Therefore, we pursue we what we ‘want’ because we don’t want to face who we are.

It would be wise to define ‘living’ as walking in the fullest expression of who I am, verses wallowing in the confines of who I’m not.

Sometimes I think it’s less about being found and more about being willing to be found.

What I do is the truest mirror of who I am.

I will either adamantly prioritize my agendas at the expense of the truth, or I will consistently bring my agendas into unrelenting obedience to the truth. And if for some reason you’re trying to determine who I truly am, the choice I make will tell you.

It is our handicaps, whatever the nature of them might be that steel us against the shallowness of the world and keep us transparently authentic. As such, we should wish for more of them, rather than deny those which we have.

It is far too trite to simply say that we should be ‘thankful,’ for that renders thankfulness as some sort of socially conditioned practice empty of everything and full of nothing. Rather, we should sternly commit to being perpetually thankful so that we might become people empty of nothing and full of everything.
