When we lose the belief in ‘something better’ we’ve embraced the belief in ‘all things worse.’ And such a perspective is based less on things being worse, and more on our inability to believe that we can make it better.

To read and to not have been changed in the reading is to have picked up a book without it ever having picked you up.

If the words are just words, then the book is just pages. But if the words capture great ideas and intimately frame them so that our lives are transformed by the weight of them, then you have a book that can never be defined by its pages.

I am thankful that there are those among us who have sacrificed dearly on behalf of us. And I ardently pray to God that I might be less like myself and more like them.

Memory is fleeting. Legacy is eternal.

God is not interested in parts of you, for having a part will never change the whole.

When you change you are illustrating the fact that it can be done. And what people need today are illustrations.

It is in taking a great thought and wrapping the entirety of it in a handful of simple words that the rouge defenses of the heart are breeched and the soul falls to the light.

Apathy is convincing ourselves that we can’t change things. Oddly enough, faith is convincing ourselves of the same thing. However, the defining difference is that apathy places the onus of change on us, while faith places the onus of change on God working through us.
