To those who have resigned themselves to the sorry belief that they are forever held captive to the currents of life, I would suggest that they take some time to learn what the oars in their boat are for.

We can choose to go wherever the winds of life happen to blow us, or we can intentionally chart a course that will blow us away. And as I ponder that thought, I realize that there are very few decisions in life whose destinations are so frighteningly opposite.

Happenstance is the myth of the simple mind, for it is the deliberate genius of God that what appears entirely disjointed always reveals itself to be stunningly seamless. And it is in reflecting on such stunning ingenuity that our faith becomes seamless.

Forgiveness means that you will not allow a temporary event to have “forever” repercussions.
