Seeing life as a gift is less the circumstances and more our attitude.

Hope is not based on the off-chance that things ‘might’ work out for us, for that kind of thinking is based on the perception that God’s will can be taken captive by our circumstances. Rather, hope is based on a God for whom circumstances are the working out of His will.

When circumstances ‘take the wind out of us,’ we would be wise to turn to the God Who can take the wind out of the circumstances.

Happenstance is the myth of the simple mind, for it is the deliberate genius of God that what appears entirely disjointed always reveals itself to be stunningly seamless. And it is in reflecting on such stunning ingenuity that our faith becomes seamless.
