There’s a really good chance that I’ve confused what I ‘need’ with what I ‘want.’ And if that’s the case, I’m looking for both in the wrong place.

Imagination envisions what could be. Reality states what is. And when my journey is shaped by one of these at the exclusion of the other, I will eventually wake up on some road facing the ‘reality’ that I’m far more lost than I could have ‘imagined’.

If I’m walking with God, not knowing where I’m at has absolutely nothing to do with being lost.

If I’m perplexed by the fact that I’m constantly lost, maybe somewhere in my head I’ve determined that being lost serves a greater purpose than being found.

We have errantly romanticized love as something we freely get verses something we sacrifice for in the giving.

To incessantly define ‘where we’re at’ as a means of convincing ourselves that we know ‘where we’re at’ suggests that we’re lost about being lost. And while the wilderness of life is teeming with these kinds of people, I have to make certain that I never enter the woods.

Where am I?” you ask. Where you are is where the things you’ve denied worshipping have taken you.

Being lost without grasping the rather obvious fact that we are lost is by far the best guarantee we have that we’re going to stay lost.

It is true that when we seek great things we most often never find them, for we have created a sense of what great things look like, what the nature of them is, and in what manner they should arrive. And what we discover is that we are typically wrong on all accounts.
