I rather quickly discovered that to find the ‘easy way’ all I have to do is take the ‘right way’ and prune it down to the point that it doesn’t demand anything of me. But despite its rather dubious appearance of ease, what it ends up demanding of me is my integrity. And there’s nothing ‘easy’ about giving that up.

The common theme of common sense is that it’s commonly rejected as uncommonly demanding.

I will love or I will hate. And while it might be true that the former will demand everything of me, I can be certain that the latter will take everything from me.

I spend my life constantly calling in ‘imaginary’ debts that aren’t owed to me in order to avoid the ‘real’ debts that I owe to others, and so everybody ends up bankrupt.

Rights’ are ‘privileges,’ and if I am arrogant enough to demand the former without respecting the latter I will lose both.
