Love is the thing that keeps everything else exactly where it needs to be. And so, if I’m out of whack, I’m probably out of love.

Doing the right thing may come with enormous cost. However, the cost of not doing the right thing will cost me myself. And that is not a price that any of us can afford to pay.

Ethics, morals and values keep freedom from devolving into license. For license is greed unleashed. And we would be quite wise to remember that greed unleashed is certain to turn and kill the thing that unleashed it.

All the forces of reason combined are unable to rescue the thoughtless person who is so enamored with their agenda that they themselves are perishing at the hands of that very agenda. And in order to insure that the principled nature of this nation is not doomed to perish alongside them, we must make certain that we are not that person.

Freedom exercised without the tempering of wisdom and the guidance of ethics is freedom gone rogue. And freedom gone rogue is no longer freedom. Rather, it is the rather effective method by which we’ve now chosen to destroy ourselves.

Self-serving biases and self-centered agendas are cotton jammed in the ears of our conscience. Even if truth shouts, we can’t hear it.

Redefining reality evidences that there is a reality to redefine, it’s just that we’re not pleased with whatever that reality is. And given the unchangeable nature of reality, we’ve yet to admit that any redefinition of it is going to be even less pleasing.

Words are not given depth by the richness of them or the manner in which they are thoughtfully woven together in perfect syntax. Rather, they are given depth when what they speak is truth regardless of how rich the words or perfect the syntax.

The only ethics that will effectively guide mankind are those that mankind did not create.
