It seems that the need to ‘found’ is offset by the fear that we will be exposed in the finding. And in looking at our world, I sometimes wonder if that fear drives some sort of twisted intentionality about being ‘lost’ that will eventually eliminate any possibility of us ever being ‘found?

What I need is far too big for me to find, yet I am never too small to be found by it.

At the point that I’ve given up being found by God is the point that I’m most ready to be found by Him.

Sometimes I think it’s less about being found and more about being willing to be found.

If I’m perplexed by the fact that I’m constantly lost, maybe somewhere in my head I’ve determined that being lost serves a greater purpose than being found.

Maybe the thought of being found is far more terrifying than the reality of being lost. Therefore, we are quite adept at saying that we want the former, when in fact we’ve repeatedly chosen the latter.

Being lost but not realizing that we are lost is probably the most lost that any one human being can ever get.

We tell ourselves all of the reasons why we’re not lost, which become all of the reasons why we’re never found.

In God’s vocabulary, ‘lost’ is an unnecessary adjective that is easily erased by the adjective ‘found’ if we would simply be brave enough to hand Him the eraser.
