The beauty of God is that He will always be there to pick us up after we’ve exhausted ourselves attempting to be Him.

If you’re ‘living’ on your own ‘energy,’ you will eventually have neither.

When we ask God to leave, He does so. And in the leaving, He takes everything with Him that is of Him. Consequently, that means that we invite in everything that is not of Him. And we might be wise to consider the nature of that invitation and if we really want to extend it.

If I have to create space for something to enter my life by asking God to leave my life, maybe what I’ve actually done is taken leave of my senses.

As far my priorities are concerned, there’s the front of the line, the end of the line, and everything in-between. And as far as God is concerned, He spends most of His time waiting to get in line.

Once faith dies, the death of hope follows hard on its heels.

The point that I think myself to be so terribly clever is the precise point at which I am beginning to think myself to be god-like, which causes me to become God-less.

Denial that we’re living for some kind of ‘god’ is likely the best evidence we have that we’re dying because of some kind of ‘god’.
