It’s not that I’ve been invited to the hole I’m standing in. It’s that I accepted the invitation.

God invites. Man indoctrinates. The former is an invitation to run the wilds of an eternity anticipated now in order to fully live there later. The latter is a set of chains that knows nothing of running, nor the space within which to do so.

Faith steps beyond logic, thereby inviting logic to something higher than itself.

The only thing that Christmas didn’t change was our refusal to change, for God extends invitations but He does not demand that we accept them.

With God, the impossible is not an obstacle but an invitation.

God chose to deliberately venture into and intentionally occupy depths far below and infinitely beyond that which any human has ever descended, and then to raise Himself back up to glory from those horridly dark places. And I pray that we never miss the fact that Christmas is God’s invitation for us to join Him in the rising.

True evil is unlikely to receive an invitation from us, so it clothes itself in just enough truth to make itself look appealing and then it looks to unpeel us.

Loss is the uninvited door that extends us an unexpected invitation to unimaginable possibilities.

To destroy that which seeks to destroy me, God invites me to stand against it until it stands down and then falls down.
