When it comes to the challenges that we’re facing, they’re not necessarily as small as we would like them to be, but they’re probably not as big as we fear them to be.

My vision need not be bigger than the obstacles. It just needs to be more determined.

When hope seems lost or the obstacles appear insurmountable, it's not the fact that neither of those things are true. Rather, it's the fact that we've forgotten the God who declares that they're not.

While the ferocity of the battle often rises to such heights that we ignore things as small as this, we would be wise to remember that the innately raw power to overcome the obstacles that blunt our hearts and block our paths lay cupped in the tender hands of a few simple words.

Will we abandon the dream to the brutality of the road that we must walk in order to bring the dream to reality? Or will we lay ourselves before God as the author of dreams and leveler of roads?

Too often ‘reality’ is the excuse that we use to abandon our dreams, when in fact ‘reality’ is simply the thing that’s sitting there waiting to be overcome by our dreams and all the while wondering why it’s taking so long.

It is not a matter of the size of the mountains that stand before us. For although the size of our faith might ‘pale’ in comparison, the size of our God handily ‘impales’ all comparisons.

Our fear frequently takes the reality of a situation and mythologizes it. And in the end, the ‘myth’ becomes the monster while the ‘fact’ remains the short guy behind the curtain.

With God, a mountain is nothing more than a road that we’ve mistaken for something that it’s not in order to excuse us from a journey that we fear.
