Doing the right thing may come with enormous cost. However, the cost of not doing the right thing will cost me myself. And that is not a price that any of us can afford to pay.

True greatness does not arise from the achievements in my life. Rather, it is born out of an appreciation for my life.

All the forces of reason combined are unable to rescue the thoughtless person who is so enamored with their agenda that they themselves are perishing at the hands of that very agenda. And in order to insure that the principled nature of this nation is not doomed to perish alongside them, we must make certain that we are not that person.

The only ethics that will effectively guide mankind are those that mankind did not create.

I am a student of scripture, not an editor of it.

We have watched men and women expend the whole of their lives brilliantly form-fitting the Word of God to the ever-changing contour of the culture. Yet, true brilliance is found in recognizing that the ‘ever-changing’ contour of the culture is a result of the fact that we’ve refused to form-fit it to the ‘never-changing’ contour of scripture. And anything less than that is brilliance brilliantly faked.

If I am bending the truth because it refuses to adhere to my agenda, I must realize that in the bending the truth has forewarned me that I am not crafting an agenda at all. Rather, I am crafting the trajectory of my own demise. And even though I adamantly reject such a notion as preposterous, it is a truth that I cannot bend.

Ethics are not the things that kill my fun. Rather, they are the things that keep me from getting killed by the things that I thought were fun.

No value system formed by man will ever manage the men who formed it.
