How many times has our conscience firmly prompted us to ‘draw the line,’ and we showed up with an eraser?

More often than not, it’s not that we don’t believe in God. Rather, it’s that we don’t want to.

To heal the pain of another is to heal my own pain. Yet, some of the greatest pain that I can experience is found in refusing to understand this.

Faith means I chose not to know, which is different than ignorance which refuses to know.

To give a gift, we think that someone must receive it. But possibly the greatest gift is granting the recipient permission to reject it, for then we have freed that gift of every agenda that would render it as less than a gift.

Do I forget, or do I refuse to remember?

If I have refused to risk, I have in the self-same decision refused to love. And if indeed I have refused to love, tragically I have refused to live. And when will I realize that that in and of itself is an unacceptable risk.

It is in refusing to recognize that we worship something that we move from the worship of that thing to slavery to that thing.
