Maybe the greatest power of all is the power of restraint.

Too often what I dislike in others is more about what I am and less about what I dislike in them. Therefore, if I make the changes in myself I’m less likely to criticize the the faults in another.

Start thinking for yourself, because if you don’t someone else will.

It’s not that I’ve been invited to the hole I’m standing in. It’s that I accepted the invitation.

I am probably no more disgruntled with my fellowman than he is with me.

To release ourselves from accountability to our choices is to say that we can be ‘reckless’ without causing a ‘wreck.’ And maybe that’s why the road of life looks more like a parking lot.

I don’t necessarily bemoan tragedy. Rather, what I bemoan is our seemingly inbred refusal to be accountable to the choices we’ve made that have caused those tragedies.

Why am I always lost in the woods,” I yell at the top of my voice! And if I choose to settle down for a moment and be honest with myself, I’ll rather reluctantly admit that I drew the map.

The dark might be dark, but at least we don’t have to look at ourselves when we’re standing in it.
