Could it be that we lost something because had we not lost it, we would have lost ourselves?

To release ourselves from accountability to our choices is to say that we can be ‘reckless’ without causing a ‘wreck.’ And maybe that’s why the road of life looks more like a parking lot.

With God, a mountain is nothing more than a road that we’ve mistaken for something that it’s not in order to excuse us from a journey that we fear.

If God didn’t design the road, you can be assured that it’s a very short path to a really steep cliff.

If I’ve created this road, it’s likely that my agendas define it. And although I believe the ascent to be lofty, it’s anything but the ‘higher road’ that I pretend it to be. However, if God’s truth’s define it, there is no road that is higher and there’s no pretending that it’s not.

Just putting a sign on the road does nothing to change where that road is going.

For life to afford us a truly new road, particularly a road of wonder and hope, we must have any remnants of the old road removed lest we are tempted to take them up yet again. And if they cannot be removed, they must be made so undesirable that nothing would behoove us to ever take them.

The road to success is paved with the hot asphalt of failure.

I’m not looking for a road to walk. Rather, I’m looking for a path to create. For creating a path shapes men, while walking a road simply appeases them.
