Lives are transformed in the solitude of those entirely unassuming moments where one life turns sufficiently away from itself in order to brush by another, and in the brushing it leaves that life forever better. And if I am privileged to have any legacy at all, let it be a million of these moments.

I am thankful that there are those among us who have sacrificed dearly on behalf of us. And I ardently pray to God that I might be less like myself and more like them.

I would much prefer the ‘wealth of impoverishment’ (where I have spent my life giving to others), over the ‘impoverishment of wealth’ (where I have squandered my life giving to myself).

In reality, a gift is nothing more than the wrappings within which I have placed myself.

Some might say that attempting to gain everything is the best way to lose everything. To the contrary, I would argue that if I’ve spent my life trying to gain everything, I never had anything to lose in the first place.

If we view the world based on its impact on us, we will forever lose sight of how we might be able to impact it.

Of course love is blind; it keeps me blind to myself.

Self-serving biases and self-centered agendas are cotton jammed in the ears of our conscience. Even if truth shouts, we can’t hear it.

To embrace an attitude of humility is to free myself from myself. And that is likely the great liberation of all.
