We have watched men and women expend the whole of their lives brilliantly form-fitting the Word of God to the ever-changing contour of the culture. Yet, true brilliance is found in recognizing that the ‘ever-changing’ contour of the culture is a result of the fact that we’ve refused to form-fit it to the ‘never-changing’ contour of scripture. And anything less than that is brilliance brilliantly faked.

In our society, it appears that rules give us a more specific idea of the things that we want to break so that we can break them more efficiently.

Maybe the last thing that we want to do should be the first thing that we choose to do. And in the society that I see unfolding around me, maybe that thing should be the surrender of everything that we are to everything that God is.

We know enough to know that all of this is not quite right. And we know enough to know that settling for what’s not quite right is quite wrong.

We are not made for a mold to which we all mindlessly adhere. Rather, we are made to be molded into something for which no mold exists.

We look around us and we find ourselves confused as to why the world has fallen into such deep darkness. And standing in this descending darkness, what we need to realize is that the farther we move from God, the darker everything gets. And no light of man can illuminate that kind of darkness.

The problem with the ‘herd’ is that our voice is never ‘heard’.

The time to act is not when everyone else does. The time to act is when everyone else has chosen not to.
