The carnage is not the end of something. Rather, it can be the beginning of everything. And the manner in which the carnage serves us will depend on the manner in which we see it.

To only see ‘death’ in death is to somehow assume that death itself is a barrier so abrupt that God Himself is halted by it. To see ‘life’ in death is to understand that death is a sprawling horizon to a new beginning that God created long before death ever thought to show up.

Without a beginning I am pouring the whole of my existence into the building of endings, while the cross and the resurrection declare that God is incessantly building beginnings from the collapse of endings.

Some of us are always waiting for life to begin. And I often wonder if life actually began a look time ago and we were too afraid to admit that it began.

God’s not done with you yet, even if you haven’t let Him begin.

As it peaks over the horizon, does not a sunrise whisper the opportunity to try again. And if the day passes and our efforts were stunted by the bane of our insecurities or blunted by the challenges of life, does not a sunset invite us to rest before it whispers the same message the next morning?

Starting over is opportunity informed by failure, which is opportunity made intelligent.

An ending is something like a caboose on a train that just pulled out so that there’s room for the train that’s now arriving. The problem is, we forget that a caboose is only one part of one train.

An ending is the result of something that was once a beginning. And a beginning is the result of something that was once an ending. And one without the other means that neither are possible, but both in combination means that just about anything is possible.
