Accepting the fact that I don’t even remotely understand all that I can be might prove an insurmountable barrier to some. Yet, if I can accept that fact, the far greater barrier constructed of my suffocatingly limited understanding of myself would be removed. And without a doubt, the former might be difficult to deal with but the latter is certain to kill me.

It’s not the gifts or the abilities or the talents that equip us to accomplish great things. Rather, it’s the persistent and adamantly stubborn conviction that we will in no way leave the world the way that we found it. And I would rather join hands with a single person of this kind than sit with a million gifted people who are not of this kind.

A life is a precious gift carefully wrapped. But if we never see it as a gift or worse yet we engage it as a troublesome burden, we won't believe that there is anything to unwrap. And I doubt that there are few things worse than living life but never embracing the gift of life.

It comes down to 'fear' and 'faith'. 'Fear' of what stands in front of me. 'Faith' in believing that the resources I possess can handle what stands in front of me. If I stop at the former, I will change nothing. If I embrace the latter, I can change everything.

Any attribute that we have does not possess the power to define itself as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Rather, any such definition is based solely on what we ‘attribute’ to that attribute.

The potential within each of us is massive. And it is petrifying to think that a power that large and that wonderful can instantly fall to something as small and anemic as greed. Yet, what’s more frightening is not that we let that happen, but that we often invite that to happen.

One thing that I know for certain is that you are untapped potential. But the one thing that I don’t know for certain is if you’re going to un-tap it. For it you don’t, we will all be the lesser for it. And that I know for certain.

It’s not about our liabilities. Rather, it’s about the absence of any belief in our abilities. And if we can embrace our abilities in order to press our liabilities into bowed submission, we have in fact rendered that which is impossible as suddenly descended into the realm of that which is gloriously possible.
