Whatever the depth of our darkness, God navigated it eons before it was dark. And whatever the duration of our nights, God was there long before it ever turned to night. Therefore, despite our frequent feelings to the contrary, there is no place we might be where God was not lovingly waiting for us an eternity before we got there.

Patience is where we realize that to rush something is to compromise it to its own destruction. Maturity is to realize that the most effective way to stop the destruction is by beginning to develop patience. And the first place that we need to do that is with ourselves.

Waiting on the Lord is the decision to abandon my time-table because it only has two legs.

Dreams must be chased, for if we wait for them to chase us we will live a life of waiting.

The man who waits to know everything is the man who never does anything.

Patience is the thing that makes me think about my choices rather than having my choices make me think about why I made them.

Everything that I hold will eventually be gone. Subsequently, the quality of my life will depend on whether I choose to appreciate those things ‘now’ or wait until ‘then.

We stand around waiting for the ‘big’ opportunity while we bypass all the ‘small’ opportunities that would have created that ‘big’ opportunity.

To wait is to wisely resign myself to the fact that my ‘timetable’ is too often a ‘table’ with two legs that won’t stand up no matter how much ‘time’ I give it.
