My faith is not some pathetic emotional escape from a reality that I am unable to cope with. Rather, my faith is the power to change that reality by changing me so that I can change it. And from that, I don’t need any escape nor do I want one.

It is not a matter of the size of the mountains that stand before us. For although the size of our faith might ‘pale’ in comparison, the size of our God handily ‘impales’ all comparisons.

How can I claim to be the center of my universe when I can’t even conceptualize that which I claim to be the center of?

I want to live a life where prayer is the first thing that I do, the second thing, the third thing, and the last thing after the prayer has been answered.

The Bible is not a book on how to live your life. It’s a book on how to live above your life.

Have we ever considered that God is so enraptured with beginnings that He permits the pain of endings so that we can experience the exhilaration of beginnings?

If we want to expand the hole in our lives left by the absence of God, fill it will everything that won’t.

If you view the claims of God as outrageous, it’s because your vision is far too tame and your apathy is way too strong.

God doesn’t promise destinations. He promises Himself.
