I’m not all that convinced that life is all that complicated. However, I’m quite convinced that ever since we got our hands on it it’s been nothing but complicated.

The problem with the truth is that it will demand everything of us, but in the end it will give everything to us. If we make it ‘relative’ it will demand nothing of us, but in the end it will take everything from us.

What we describe as ‘plans’ are often the best guess that we have for a situation that we probably don’t understand.

To forgive is to say that we will not allow someone else’s foolishness become our burden lest we become the fool.

If there’s one thing that I’ve repeatedly and rather foolishly forgotten to schedule into my life it is to create times where it’s not scheduled.

I can endlessly ‘talk’ about the need to ‘listen’. Yet in doing so, I’m once again doing the very opposite of what I say I should be doing.

I can pretend to be my own god, but I have an awfully hard time pretending that failing to be a god didn’t happen.
