Whatever your calling might be, don’t expect it to come easy. For if the calling is achieved without our being transformed in the process, it might have been a fun endeavor but it was not a calling.

It’s not so much about where we’re at, but where we want to go from where we’re at.

Much like life, I can stand at rivers edge and never know anything other than this place, or I can submerge myself in the river and know every place. For the former never moves, but the latter never does not.

There are many paths to take, but there is only one journey to which we are called.

Might it be that I chose to invest my life in something ‘good’ so that I could avoid the fear of investing in something ‘great?

I am made for a purpose. And it is worth expending everything that I have to find it, for I will waste everything that I have if I do not.

It is in the ‘exhaustion’ of getting to the goal that we too often forget the ‘elation’ of achieving the goal. And because that’s the case, too often we forfeit both.

Could it be that questioning the existence of our purpose is in fact part of the process within which we become convinced that we have one?

Too often my ‘target’ is whatever happens to have wandered in front of me instead of being something that I have intentionally put myself in front of.
