It’s not the world that enslaves me. Rather, it’s my attitude about the world as positioned against the rather faltering belief that I can change it. And when that belief is firmly rooted in a relentless thankfulness that I have both the privilege and the gifting to do exactly that, I can know that I will never be a slave to my attitude, which is one of the greatest acts of liberation that I will ever experience.

To rely on our own energy to sustain us is a ‘set-up’ that will be rather quickly followed by a ‘falling down.’ And to avoid either, I must engage God.

However far I’ve come, it’s probably somewhere less than halfway of where I could be if I simply believed in myself.

It’s not a lack of opportunity around me. Rather, it’s a lack of faith within me.

I don’t know that dreams die. I think it’s more that they are never born.

Hope waits to be discovered, begging it seems that we believe in its existence sufficiently to pursue it in order to find it to be real in the pursuing.

Pull every dream that you’ve ever had from all of the places that you’ve abandoned them, brush them off, set them in front of yourself, run the fingers of your heart over each of them, fight the lie that you’re not enough to achieve them, and realize that the dream was not too big. Rather, the belief in yourself is too small.

In no way does God’s absence call His existence into question. To the contrary, His absence calls into question my unwillingness to surrender to His existence.

Faith is the thing that asks us to set aside reason for the God who supersedes it.
