The conclusion that something is impossible is based on an evaluation of the resources that we possess as held in contrast to the size of the challenge. Yet, over and over the ‘fact’ that something is possible falls to the ‘fiction’ that it is impossible for the simple reason that our fear handily minimizes the former and heartedly exaggerates the latter.

More often than not, to blame someone else is to play ‘hot potato’ with something that’s neither hot nor a potato.

There are those who left the confines of comfort to fight the battles from which they might not return, for to do anything less was to assume that they could do nothing more. And a true patriot will never succumb to the rot of such cowardice.

We spend far too much of our lives running from that which we fear. But if we were to assess where the running has actually taken us, we would discover that it hasn’t.

I can readily see the tyrants that stand all around me. But what I have a hard time seeing is the hero that resides within me. And I have effectively determined whether I will succeed or fail simply by choosing which of these two I will focus on.

One man lives out his life beating his fears into submission, while another lives out his life letting his fears beat him into submission. And while the fears are the same, the kind of men that they produce are not.

The war on Christmas is waged of weakness and fed by vision blinded. It is a war of intellect blunted to stupidity and calling begging at the feet of cowardice.

Is the goal I’ve set been determined by a desire to avoid the goal I should have set?

The fear within me is not the enemy. Rather, the enemy within me is the cowardice that refuses to face the fear.
