Just because we chose to reject the truth does mean that such an option was actually available to us.

We all have some belief that drives our decisions. But have we really ever been driven to understand what that belief is so that we understand what our decisions are?

If we dare examine our decisions, we will see our values woven in and through every single one of them. Therefore, it would do us well to take an occasional peek to insure that our values remain at their peak.

Waiting on the Lord is the decision to abandon my time-table because it only has two legs.

It’s not so much about the difficult place that I’m at, although that’s what’s probably got most of my attention. Rather, it’s more about how I got here. Because whatever that is, if I don’t change it I’m going to live out the whole of my life is some pretty similar places.

If I end up at the edge of this cliff one more time than the number of times I’ve walked away from it, I need to burn my map, trade in my compass and ask God for a new set.

What I allow into my head finds its way to my heart, which is a porthole to my soul. Therefore, I might be wise to consider the state of my soul, and then walk this process backwards.

The journey driven by the winds of greed are certain to run aground on the shoals of suffering.

We’re making our decisions … or so we think. Yet in truth, ignorance, greed, and the scourge of immediate gratification are often the things that are making them. So if we’re going to truly live well, maybe the first thing we need to decide is who’s deciding.
