Are we leaving the kind of footprints in the kind of places that will cause people to remember the kind of person that we want to be remembered as? If not, maybe we should take a hard look at the shoes that we’re wearing and evaluate where we’re wearing them.

Memory is a few lines snipped from a larger story that we are privileged to tuck away between the pages of our minds.

When it’s all said and done, everything that we’ve ‘said’ should have been ‘done’ in the life of another. And I would suggest that this is legacy. And I would further suggest that anything other than that is simply memory that we will soon forget.

To sit down at the end of each day and read what we wrote across the page of this day is probably going to make us think real, real hard about what we should write tomorrow.

It’s not that I can’t remember. It’s that I prefer not to remember, which means that I prefer not to remember what not remembering did to me the last time I did it.

Sometimes time cannot sweep wonderful places and people into the backwater of our own histories because the preciousness of those places and those people refuses to be swept away.

Legacy is what’s left standing once you aren’t.

To rewrite history is a deliberate action perpetrated by those who are too driven by their fear and too captivated by their greed to acknowledge that the flaws in their agenda won't stand up to the truth of history. And to arrogantly declare that their revision of history is anything less is to have their own history systematically destroyed in a manner forever beyond revision.

Any road not informed by the past will certainly be an uncertain one.
