When we elevate the relevance of our intellectual acumen to the point where we now declare God as irrelevant, we can be certain that the one thing that’s become strikingly relevant is our imminent destruction.

And while following God might be deemed by many as ignorance, or escapism, or legalism, or some other negative label, I would simply say, “Look around you.” “Look around you.” And in doing so ask, “Is the fool the one who continually attempts to sail sunken ships, or the one who follows a risen Christ?

If there is any evidence that points to the existence of God, it is found in man’s incessant desire to be ‘god’ and his repeated failure to be anything but men who wish to be what they are not.

We will know that our rebellion against God has reached a peak when we spend our lives attempting to force failed alternatives to work despite their failures. And if we persist, this ‘peak’ of rebellion will become the valley our of demise.

It seems that we are not in a state of disbelief regarding the existence of God. Rather, we are in a state of rebellion against His existence. But have we not yet come to understand that in the end, that kind of rebellion is a rebellion against our own existence?

How do I come to believe in God? Immerse yourself in the alternatives.

When wisdom gives way to whimsy and ethics fall to excitement, it is highly likely that the ground beneath me will ‘give way’ and it is I who will ‘fall.

It’s never a fool’s errand to have goals bigger than what we are. Rather, the fool’s errand is believing that there’s no such thing as a God who’s bigger than what our goals are.

If I have to create space for something to enter my life by asking God to leave my life, maybe what I’ve actually done is taken leave of my senses.
