Are we leaving the kind of footprints in the kind of places that will cause people to remember the kind of person that we want to be remembered as? If not, maybe we should take a hard look at the shoes that we’re wearing and evaluate where we’re wearing them.

Destiny suggests that the effect of our life is to exceed the length of our life. Therefore, today never ends with today.

When it’s all said and done, everything that we’ve ‘said’ should have been ‘done’ in the life of another. And I would suggest that this is legacy. And I would further suggest that anything other than that is simply memory that we will soon forget.

To sit down at the end of each day and read what we wrote across the page of this day is probably going to make us think real, real hard about what we should write tomorrow.

If the baser instinct of rampant self-preservation adamantly refuses to surrender itself to the infinitely greater call of self-sacrifice, in attempting to save our lives we will have in reality completely destroyed our lives.

Legacy is what’s left standing once you aren’t.

How many stories are there that have been lived, but will never be told? Far too many for me to squander the one that I’m living.

Who are you sending into the future and how are you sending them? For this is the stuff of legacy that we tend to forget until long after we’ve sent them.

It seems altogether probable that we would live with far greater care if we realized that in living out our day we are in fact writing out our history.
