We cannot live with each other at the exclusion of each other for then the richness of our shared experience will die an impoverished death, and in the dying it will kill the dreams that we were both fighting for.

To make the ‘shadow’ the tree is to try and climb something that’s always flat and constantly moving. However, it’s something from which we’ll never fall. And maybe that’s why we live in the shadow of dreams rather than living out our lives actually climbing one.

Wonder won’t necessarily speak our language, which doesn’t mean that it’s not speaking a language.

Today is the fodder of tomorrow’s dreams, so we’d be wise to invest in today so that we don’t show up with empty hands tomorrow.

It’s not the length of my stride. It’s the fact that I’m walking.

The amount of energy that I possess always falls wincingly short of the size of my dreams. Therefore, such a horribly frustrating contradiction has driven me to the singular conviction that the only dreams that God has given me are the dreams that cannot be achieved without Him.

Reality often holds the facts that we desperately wish to avoid, but at the same time it holds the ingredients of the dreams that we hope to achieve.

I don’t know that dreams die. I think it’s more that they are never born.

To run from reality is to avoid the very thing that our dreams are made of.
